Eton College

Oppidan’s partnership with Eton is longstanding and multifaceted. As a pair, we have run over 15 events in the past few years helping to mentor students, develop cross-sector involvement and strengthen careers pathways alongside essential skills.

Two of the key recent days we have led were the Eton Symposium and the Community Day.

Symposium

In Summer 2023, we were delighted to be part of the Eton College Symposium which involved every Year 9 student at Holyport College, Eden Girls' School's, Slough and Eton College. The purpose of the day was to create a collaborative, hands-on learning experience for pupils from varied schools to develop their understanding of their Sustainable Development Goals, whilst building a social action project together.

It was a brilliant day, with over 400 students and 20 mentors - our biggest ever single day in a school and wonderful for the team to help share the value and power of mentoring across a diverse and talented audience.

Community Day

In this initiative, students were focused on volunteering and learning how to effectively mentor others within the wider community.

The day was focused on developing key skills of leadership, the role of the volunteer, safeguarding principles, role modelling, dealing with conflicts and strategies for building a rapport with mentees.

I continue to be impressed by Oppidan and its values-generated direction of travel and we are delighted to be associated with them.
