Programme
Partners since 2022 and led expertly by Head of Middle School Sophie Bell, Davenies Year 5 students are currently enjoying the Two-Year Journey which equips boys with the confidence to make a real success of the move into Year 5 and onto Year 6 as the senior school interview process commences. The current Year 6 cohort will soon complete their fifth and final 1:1 mentoring day, focused on goal setting for the terms ahead as well as building their oracy and character skills.
Outcomes
Pupils and parents are surveyed prior to the programme launch to further inform the focus of our work. 68% of students selected confidence as the key skill they wanted to develop during the programme.
Pupil feedback to date shows the value they place in collaboration and having a mentor who can facilitate teamwork in a safe and open environment. They have relished the opportunity to develop their supra-curricular skills and in surveys have reflected on how to translate these skills into future academic and personal success.
Final outcomes will be assessed in the end of year surveys in June.
