Caldicott School
Programme
Partners since 2018, 40 boys in Year 5 are currently part of Oppidan's two-year transition journey, which measures changes in confidence, resilience and character through five impact days. The aim is to make a success of each element of the senior school selection process. The programme includes group workshops, 1:1 mentoring sessions and outdoor leadership activities.
Outcomes
Pupils and parents are surveyed prior to the programme launch to further inform the focus of our work. Halfway through the programme, in their mid-point survey, 60% of students have self-reported an increase in resilience. Pupil feedback to date shows the value they place in having a mentor who is a role model and who can prepare them for senior school transition alongside support them in developing effective communication skills.
Final outcomes will be assessed in the end of year surveys in June.
