Oppidan in South Korea

Last week we travelled to Seoul to launch our mentoring programme with the schools of British Education Korea.

It was a brilliant week full of learnings, cultural and educational and we were delighted that, even the other side of the world, there was such a strong appetite for developing essential skills.

For the first two days our work was with BEK Prep, focusing on communication and self-reflection in group settings as well as 1:1 interview workshops designed to boost student confidence and create a clearer game plan for long term success.

On our final day, we moved to the senior school and worked with individual students with a focus on their future pathway towards sixth form and university. It was wonderful to see such potential with the diverse student body and our mentor team were moved to support such aspiration and talent as students plan for the next stage.

Seoul is a stunning, sprawling city and as we gave prizes, wrote reports and guided the BEK students through the week, we felt honoured to be sharing the value of mentoring in our own small way.

We were delighted by the feedback from students.

Here at Oppidan, we already can't wait for our next visit.

I loved the experience of the program. It really motivated me to work and study for my goals. I wish experiences like this can be set for me in the future as well. If it is possible, I would like to be mentored in communication skills by people like Oppidan. I loved this experience
