Developing financial literacy in kids with Ruffer

We’ve teamed up with Ruffer to launch an awareness campaign on the value of financial literacy in a child’s education.

Let’s face it, we’ve all had the “I wish I’d learnt that in school” moment when money matters arise, whether it’s buying your first house or navigating the mystery of taxes. To tackle this, we’ve partnered with investment management firm Ruffer to give kids a head start when it comes to learning the ins and outs of how money works.

By getting to grips with concepts like budgeting, saving, and investing early on, children develop responsible money habits and are better prepared to handle the financial challenges that life might throw at them. Understanding the fundamentals empowers kids to navigate the complexities of the modern world, avoid debt traps and build a solid foundation for financial well-being.

Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be co-running the following activities and programmes:

Summer Camp

10th-13th July

As with previous years, Ruffer will join us on camp to run fun activities that introduce kids to the basics of money, including the much-loved Stock Market Game.

The Oppidan Academy

7th-10th August, application deadline 7th July

Ruffer are one of the guests at the Oppidan Academy, where they’ll run a workshop about careers in finance for students in Year 12 and 13.

Financial Literacy Video Course

On-demand

As part of the 11+ Journey, kids enjoy a cinematic, six-part video course to master money matters, hosted by the ever-entertaining Dalia and other special guests.
