British Education Korea

Programme

In September 2023, Oppidan and British Education Korea launched a partnership involving nearly 100 pupils in both junior and senior school.

Outcomes

In the senior school, the Oppidan Interview day is a mentoring programme focused on spoken assessment. Every pupil has a 30 minute 1:1 interview workshop with an Oppidan mentor. Each workshop looks at mock questions and analysis; children can interview the mentor and a profile is built of each child’s strengths and weaknesses.

The ability to engage and talk about yourself with conviction is becoming ever more important. The interview session focuses on the development of essential skills necessary for future success. As in the prep school, the Skills builder framework is used to support this progression.

The following data reflects a sample of 39 BEK students who completed the post-workshop survey.

  • 8.4/10 students now see the benefit of having a mentor

  • 7.8/10 students saw the workshop as influential in shaping their communication skills

  • Students rated the programme as 8.6/10 overall
